Jan is a Tampa native, and other than spending her college years away at the University of Virginia, she has lived within one square mile in South Tampa all her life. She enjoys helping clients get to know and love Tampa and to find the home for them that was “meant to be.” Her lifelong knowledge of the Tampa Bay area and of local schools, as well as her experience in helping families get acclimated and involved in the community, make her the ideal agent to help buyers not only find their perfect house, but more importantly, to feel at home here. Her extensive network enables her to be the “matchmaker” between buyers and sellers when looking for or selling a home. Jan’s friendly nature and caring personality lead to building trusted and lasting relationships with her clients who often become dear friends.
Jan began in real estate almost thirty years ago, then stepped away to raise her young family. When her three children reached their teens, she began an 18 + year career with Etcetera, a New York fashion company, where she recruited, trained, and managed a successful sales team of women across the state of Florida. In 2021, Jan reactivated her real estate career at Preston and Farley, while remaining active in her church and various community volunteer activities. She has served as president of the Plant High School PTA, president of Azalea Garden Circle, volunteer coordinator with Read to Dream, a Sustaining member of the Junior League of Tampa, a board member of USF’s Town and Gown, and a board member of South Tampa Young Life. In 2023 Jan became part of the team at Smith and Associates and now enjoys assisting buyers and sellers through the largest real estate company in the greater Tampa area.
